3 things to remember when life takes a turn

Do you ever feel like you just can’t catch a break? I mean, problem after problem after problem – it just doesn’t stop. And then whenever you finally feel like you’re back on track, everything just falls to complete shit. You’re not at the point of giving up yet but you’re sort of getting there. Do you know what I mean? You definitely need to remember these 3 things whenever life takes a turn for your own good.

For a good month now, things have been going smoothly in my life. I’ve also been maintaining my mental health and physical health. All is well, except my dog Sophie having to get her expensive heartworm treatment done. But other than that, things have finally calmed down in my life and felt normal again. Well, there goes life, throwing another one of its curve balls at me. This time it must have hit me dead in the eye because I am barely standing right now, I’m so overwhelmed and frustrated.

I sure wish I would have thought about the 3 things to remember when life takes a turn before drinking several glasses of wine. But it’s okay – who’s counting?

3 Things To Remember When Life Takes A Turn

1. It happens to everyone. It may feel like it’s just you at the time that it happens to but it is not. Truth is, everyone goes through shit in life. Some more than others, and some less, but that’s just the way it is. I remember my dad always telling me that because as soon as something bad happens in my life – I freak out and immediately think the worst. Obviously, my anxiety disorder has a lot to do with that, but he always seemed to remind me that I’m not the only person in the world who goes through things.

2. There’s always a reason to be thankful. Things can be much worse. Other people have it waaaaay worse than you and you don’t even know of it. Be thankful that you’re alive, have food to eat, a roof over your head, etc. Because there are people out there who don’t have food to eat, or any clothes on their back, major health problems, etc. Just take a moment and be thankful. When I do this, it always makes me feel better.

3. Do not stress about it. I know this is a lot easier said than done. But stress will make it worse! If you stumble upon an obstacle in life and you know you cannot control it, just take it one day at a time trying to come up with a solution. Stressing about it will only cause migraines if you are like me, and just mess with your mental health period. Sometimes stress can cause pain physically as well too.

Honestly, if you’re going through something.. whether it’s financial problems, work problems, family problems, etc. Whatever it may be, just please try to remember these 3 things when life takes a turn on you. No one likes it when life takes a turn and it’s not like we can avoid it either.

1 Solution To Calming Things Down A Bit

My favorite solution for calming things down in life is a candle!! I absolutely love them and they are my go-to. My favorite is Eucalyptus Spearmint. It takes all the anxiety from my body when it is lit. I am not even kidding!

Don’t be too hard on yourself. Things will work out, just not right when you want them to. Try not to let life take full control over you. Tackle it instead… because things will happen and we cannot avoid them. We can only prepare for them!
